Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.
Victory also means he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an improved serve.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.
He rescued four early-game opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
